Scott P. Lewis, Partner

Scott Lewis has handled a diverse array of trials, appeals and regulatory matters for clients throughout the United States for over 30 years, regularly serving as lead counsel in complex commercial cases and regulatory litigation for both private and public sector clients.  He leads our national airport practice, representing governmental airport owners in federal regulatory compliance matters, civil litigation, and airport-airline negotiations.  Scott's cases often involve intricate economic or scientific issues.  He is an active participant in the civil rights community and frequently handles politically-charged constitutional litigation.  Scott brought his practice to Anderson & Kreiger in 2006 after 32 years at Palmer & Dodge. Scott's experience includes:

  • Representing dozens of airport owners before the USDOT, the FAA, in court or in their dealings with airlines and FBOs;
  • Serving as lead counsel to 46 states in major tobacco litigation;
  • Representing a major biotechnology company in commercial litigation;
  • Representing a leading mutual fund company in precedent-setting litigation involving the moral rights of artists;
  • Defending a precedent-setting consumer class action in Massachusetts;
  • Serving as lead counsel in prisoners' rights actions in federal and state court involving free speech or conditions of confinement;
  • Defending a municipality's ban on the testing of nerve gas for the United States Army;
  • Speaking at conferences on complex litigation and airport regulation;
  • Serving as Chair of the Boston Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights (where he remains on the Board of Directors and a member of the Executive Committee) and as General Counsel of the Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts;
  • Serving on the Cambridge Planning Board.
