William L. Lahey, Managing Partner

Bill Lahey has more than 25 years of experience handling complex environmental, energy, and land use matters for clients throughout the United States.  He regularly represents clients in federal and state courts, and has testified before Congress on proposed federal environmental legislation.  He also serves as town counsel for the towns of Concord, Dover, and Lexington, and special counsel to other cities and towns in Massachusetts and across the country.  Bill joined Anderson & Kreiger in 2006 from an established practice at Palmer & Dodge.  His experience includes:

       
  • Representing Excelerate Energy in the permitting, construction and operation of a major LNG port off the coast of Massachusetts, including coordinating the successful effort to obtain dozens of local, state, and federal permits;   
  • Representing a U.K. alternative energy company constructing the largest biodiesel-fired generating facility in New England, including obtaining Renewable Energy Certificates from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts;   
  • Representing the developers, Cabot, Cabot & Forbes relating to the permitting of Westwood Station, one of the largest mixed use development projects in New England;   
  • Serving as counsel to the City of Phoenix in one of the largest groundwater contamination cases in Arizona;   
  • Advising airport owners across the country on environmental matters;   
  • Leading the legal and engineering team that successfully obtained dozens of federal water permits for several major coastal and infrastructure facilities in Puerto Rico;   
  • Serving as legal advisor to the Royal Government of Bhutan on environmental matters and judicial reform;   
  • Publishing numerous articles on environmental and land use matters in Harvard Environmental Law Review, Ecology Law Quarterly, Maine Law Review, Massachusetts Law Review, Technology Review, and other publications.
